Moving

I hope everyone is enjoying the long weekend, just a quick post to let you know I will be offline for a few days as we are moving. Hopefully I will be back online on Tuesday.

What was I Thinking!!!!!

Well I don't know what I was thinking when I decided this morning that I needed a 3 column blog..... it took me half the morning reading all the do's and don'ts and how to save my template should the worst happen, and guess what it did! I have now spent the best part of the day trying to get my blog back to some resemblance of what it looked like before. So bare with me I know I still have a few more posts to edit and try and get the line up right.

Let me know, was it worth it? Do you like the new layout?

Master Bedroom Makeover

As promised in one of my previous posts I have finally downloaded the photo's of our master bedroom. I have included a before shot but it's not very good...sorry

Before

It was brown, beige and boring!!!!!!!

After

As you can see from the pics the room was almost there but not quite, we still had the mirror to hang and find artwork for above the bed.  Note how well my bench ties in with the zebra boxes.

Mighty Mouse

I know you are all probably sick of hearing about the packing but that has been all my week has consisted of. I have to say a huge thank you to my youngest daughter who for the last two days has been an absolute Trojan, I have told her that her new nick name is "Mighty Mouse".

Let me explain.... when we rented this house it came fully furnished and as we purchased our own furniture we moved the landlord's down to the basement, well it is open house here on Tuesday at 6pm so all of our furniture had to go down to the basement and the landlord's brought back up and put where it belongs. Mighty Mouse has over the last two days helped me carry huge sofa's, coffee tables, buffets and numerous other items up and down two flights of stairs. We have had a few hysterical moments one being when my two daughter's decided to get into an argument over the dog while I was left wedged half way up the stairs with a sofa, at this point I just wanted to cry.

I don't know where she gets all of her strength, Mighty Mouse is 5ft 2in and weighs in at around 110lbs.  I woke up this morning and could just about move, she on the other hand was bright and bubbly and hounding  me to hurry up and get ready so that we could finish moving the furniture.

So again a big THANK YOU!!!!!!!!!!

Before and After

Today has been pretty boring although I did manage to get the pics off the camera so I thought I would share with you my little bench makeover.  I did forget to take a before pic so I searched the net and found a picture of a bench that looks almost identical to what mine looked like, even down to the horrible fabric.

It's amazing what a little sanding, a can of high gloss black spray paint and some faux fur can do. I wanted to add something a little different to our master bedroom so this bench now ties in very nicely with the zebra print boxes that sit on top of the armoire.

Packing

Well today has consisted of yet more packing, the girls have been great and have been very helpful. Our house is starting to look very empty and bare, I hate when I have to take apart a room and only leave the bare essentials. I did manage to snap a few pics of the master bedroom before I packed away all of the accessories and I will post the pics when the other half gets home to show me how to get them off the camera. It was not quite finished as we never got the mirror hung but it will give you a general idea of the look I was going for.

Our poor pooch doesn't know what to do with herself she has been moping around the house all day trying to stay out of the way and giving us a stern talking to when she didn't like something we where doing ie packing the boxes.

This is Shiloh trying to get our attention she went around collecting all the socks and then wants us to chase her to get them back.
